Fully restored 1969 MG B Mark II Roadster ground up nut and bolt stripped down restoration vin G-HN4-U/172228-G built on April 25-28, 1969, with engine 18GH-RWE-H/12011 BMC 1.8-liter OHV inline-four, 95 horsepower mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive (found in only 20% of cars built) and shipped to Calgary Canada on May 6, 1969, and bought by Luk Bas…., 40 Ave N E, Calgary. The MG B succeeded the MG A in 1963.
In early October 2003 it was bought by Brian P…., Plover St, Kitimat BC and shipped to Kitimat (see photos). From 2008-2012 the car underwent a complete “body off” restoration (at an estimated cost of C$40,000 )- 80-85% of the skin is new from Moss and other suppliers. Only the “skeleton” is original (see photos of rebuild)
The car won an award at the 2023 Vancouver ABFM car show for best restoration under C$50,000 (see photos)
RESTORATION
The following was done - Many invoices for all these parts from Moss are available
The restorer stripped the car down to its “skeleton frame” (see photos) repaired all the rust, sealed it, filled it, 2k primed it, sanded it, applied 4 coats and unseen (mostly with replacement panels from Moss Motors), epoxy of Featherfill epoxy, sealed it (again) and laid down several coats of base and clear coat. The car was painted in matt finish. A new vinyl dash pad was installed. Door cards, carpets and seat covers were replaced. Mechanically new front and rear springs, bushings, shock absorbers, brake pads and shoes, new brake lines, new radiator and hoses, new water pump and thermostat, new fuel tank and sending unit. The engine was rebuilt. Recent work included valve adjustment, compression test (150+ psi) and new seals, gaskets, rebuilt SU carburettors, new oil cooler and hoses, a new clutch master and slave cylinder and new brake master cylinder installed along with all new fabricated lines for the brake booster/servo, all new spark plugs, new fuel pump, electronic ignition installed, replaced head gasket, replaced 2 freeze plugs, and new coil. Many lights, knobs, handles and levers were also replaced as well as all door and window rubber seals. The convertible top is like new. Car comes with a spare wheel, seat belts and rubber mats.
The car runs and drives superbly. The engine compartment is spotless

· An aluminum radiator with an electric fan and a 16-row oil cooler with stainless steel hoses were added.
· Off- body power coated paint - in British Racing green (see picture)
· New rocker panels and front wind dam
· Manual convertible top in excellent condition (spare top comes with the car)
· All new wiring
· All external “skin” scrapped and replaced – 4 new fenders, new floorboards, new doors
· New front and rear wheel inner metal arches
· The bonnet is rebuilt, and rear trunk and luggage rack are original
· The inside trunk flooring repaired
· Front and rear chrome bumpers are original
· New seats and carpets and dash rebuilt
· New wood trim steering aluminum wheel with Boss MG B logo (Moss)
· New rear springs and shock absorbers and bearings and rebuilt differential
· Replaced brake and master clutch cylinders and new hydraulic lines
· New rear drum brakes
· New front wishbones, bearings, springs, shock absorbers and disc brakes
· Front Suspension Fast Road Coil Over Conversion Kit
· Rear Suspension Tube Shock Conversion
· Polyurethane Bushings
· Rear Suspension Rebound Straps
· Replaced underside steering gear
· New disc brake, new brake lines,
· Four new knock-off Minilite rims (wire rims discarded}
· Four new Hancook Mileage Plus LL tires – approx. 3500 miles

Work ceased in 2012 due to illness and the car in storage
In 2020-21 the car was bought by Stephen P in Vancouver. It has never been driven in Winter since restoration. At this time upgrades were completed such as
· Stainless steel gas tank and new German SU fuel pump
· Stainless exhaust pipe and mufflers
· Electronic ignition and new coil
· Alternator replaced generator
· All fluids changed
In May 2024 the car was bought by Michael L … and shipped to Toronto. It has been in a heated garage since.
Current mileage is 83,390 as of December 2024
